Abstract

The article attempts a comparative analysis of the eyewitness versions of the fall of Filip Dimitrov's government, coming from UDF circles. The text is structured in two parts, presenting the two alternative points of view - respectively of Filip Dimitrov and his hardliners and the opposite position defended by Zhelyu Zhelev and Dimitar Ludzhev. Based on an interdisciplinary approach to the source material involved, the political strategies are set in the context of problematic institutional interactions, and the genesis of the crisis is interpreted through the prism of right-wing leaders' attitudes towards the mechanisms of functioning democracy.
