Do the Business Environment Affect Investment in the European Union?

Abstract

The relation between the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and the business environment has been an object for discussion in many academic papers. The current research is dedicated to the analysis of this relation using data for European Union member states. The results show that only the overall evaluation of the business environment and the issuing of construction permits have a significant relation with the levels of FDI sock in a country.
