Abstract

The article presents an analysis of current issues in the socio-political life that create dividing and unifying lines in Bulgarian society. The focus is posed on the main contemporary factors that unite and that divide, which are examined through two issues: the divisions provoked by geopolitical conflicts – the divisions in political life caused by the war in Ukraine, which are examined through the prism of the impact through social networks; social mobilization and support in crises caused by natural disasters such as fires and floods, which provoke civic energy aimed at uniting society and represent an expression of a compensatory mechanism.
