Abstract

The article examines the cooperative model as an innovative form of organizing extracurricular music education. It argues that in the context of contemporary educational and social challenges, cooperatives can provide a more sustainable, more accessible and higher-quality environment for music education by sharing resources, responsibilities and expertise between teachers, parents and institutions. The analysis is based on concepts of communities based on a given practice, social capital and learning by doing and experience, as well as on examples of successfully functioning parent and teacher cooperatives in Bulgaria and abroad.
